Hours 6-10

I'm grouping these altogether because I was pretty deep into my book (or in sleep XD). Still reading The Diviners, but I only have about 50 pages left so I'm guessing I'll be able to finish it in this next hour, or a little past! After I finish the book, I'm planning on doing some activity stuff on Goodreads during Hour 12 and then start Obsidio at Hour 13. Wish me luck!

Hour 5 - the reading continues, drowsily

So, I'm starting to feel a little tired, so I'm probably going to walk around a little bit before I settle in to my next reading session. The Diviners is definitely keeping my interest though. It's more of the fact that I woke up at 6 this morning and only got, like 6 hours of sleep that I'm feeling drowsy.

I might try to pick up a graphic novel or manga to help me move past the sleepy phase as well. I didn't get any from the library, but I do have some Bleach, Skip Beat, and Rurouni Kenshin on my shelves that I can pick from. Also have The Sandman series and The Walking Dead Compendium 3 that I still need to get to. We'll see what happens :) Stay tuned for an update on my reading progress for this hour!

Hour 4 - I actually get to read!

Okay, so my hour of hosting is over (but I might do some more sprints later on in the day if people want them) and I finally get to do some reading of my own!

I'm going to be starting off with The Diviners by Libba Bray because I've been wanting to dig back into that book for a while now. It's been getting really interesting and I just haven't had time to pick it back up, until today!

I'll add an update to this post at the end of the hour to let you know how far I get. I'll be starting on page 307 :)

Update: I read 41 pages in 37 minutes. I'm using the Bookly app to track my times. It's helping me to see my reading speed for non-e-books. According to the app, I'll be finishing this book in about 3 1/2 hours if I stick to the same reading pace!

Hour 3 - Hosting time

So, already 3/4ths of the way into Hour 3, but it's been a busy hour of hosting! I've been hosting a mini sprint session on my twitter (@missymaynook), commenting on replies to my topic discussion on Goodreads, AND jumping around to people's blogs, threads, instagrams, etc. to encourage and spread the love. It's been busy!

I just realized that I didn't fill out the pre-readathon survey thing. I may or may not do that. I kind of want to jump into a book right now XD I'll definitely be updating my progress as I go though :)

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon Prep!

Hey everyone! sorry for the long break, again :( Lift is getting in the way again, but I have been reading! My Goodreads page is more up-to-date than this blog is.

So, I'm really excited about this read-a-thon for a couple of reasons.

1) I'm actually hosting an hour of the readathon (Hour 3), so make sure to join me so I have people to talk to! :)

2) I got my hands on a few books I've been looking for a while and actually were able to get at the library!

So, what books am I looking to read tomorrow?
The Diviners by Libba Bray (I'm already a little more than half way through it)

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Entreat Me by Grace Draven

Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas

Now, I'm not planning on finishing ALL of these books, but I do what to read at least a little bit in all of them and finish Diviners and Obsidio. Check out here and at my Goodreads page for up-to-date info about my reading progress! All my links are below <3 :) Happy reading!

Read-a-thin/TBR BustAThon Read-a-thons!

So, in case you didn't read my previous post, I'm going to be participating in a lot of readathons in order to get myself back into a reading habit again. So far, I've been finding that the sprints are really helping me become motivated to just pick up my book and read for at least 15 minutes. I actually finished a book that I started almost a month ago! I was halfway through in 25 days, then got through the 2nd half in just 2! The power of read-a-thons indeed.

So, here are the two read-a-thons that are going on this week (Feb. 4-10): Read-a-thin (@readathin) and TBR BustAThon (@tbrbustathon). They both have the same goals for getting through your TBR list, which is definitely what I'm trying to do. Here's my reading progress so far:

When a week turns into 7 months

So, it's been a while. Moving into the new house definitely took a lot more time and energy than I thought it would. Once we were settled in, I realized just how little time I have now to read between work, commuting to/from work, and basic necessities. :/ It wasn't until November that I really started reading again by re-reading The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. I got through the first two and Edgedancer, then started tackling Oathbringer. When I started tackling Oathbringer, I started into another reading slump. I've been slowly working my way out of it, but it has me in the middle of about 5 books right now.

So, to get back on track I'm participating in some readathons and hoping I can finish up the books that I've started. I'll be posting my progress on those readathons and also provide some information so you all can participate yourselves!

Overall, I'm sorry for such a long hiatus, but a huge life change like moving always knocks me off my game. Here's to hoping I can get back on course!
